We believe every student has the potential to thrive in our K-12 Education Program. We provide personalized academic, behavioral, therapeutic, and vocational programs designed to build a foundation for lifelong independence.

In our highly structured, small-class environments, students aged 5 to 22 receive intensive, collaborative support that addresses their individual needs and challenges. We’re dedicated to fostering functional life skills and vocational training, empowering them to confidently navigate their community with dignity.

Educational Services

Individual growth is achieved through differentiated instruction, practicing, and generalizing skills. ACCEL knows that individual student growth and achievement is evidenced in the opportunity for students to practice skills and concepts in various environments. The small class size, low student to teacher ratio, rigorous structure, and comprehensive programming proves to be an effective combination that leads to success, growth, and independence for our students.

ACCEL’s curriculum map is linked to Arizona’s Academic Standards.
ACCEL utilizes a variety of curricular resources including but not limited to Science Research Association (SRA) Corrective Reading and Math, Handwriting without Tears, Unique Learning Systems, and Touchpoint Math to name a few.
Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are aligned to the Arizona Academic Standards. The behavior department trains and supports classroom staff to utilize effective strategies in the delivery of differentiated instruction for each student.
The adaptation team supports each classroom in individualizing and adapting educational materials and work systems to align with themes and academic lessons.
Daily living skills and vocational readiness skills are embedded within classroom routines and in targeted activities each day.
Therapeutic strategies are integrated throughout the school day to ensure access and optimal engagement.

ACCEL’s vocational department is dedicated to empowering students with the independent living and workplace skills they need to thrive. We understand that every student has unique interests and abilities, so our staff provides individualized training that opens doors to a range of future employment opportunities.

Students learn, practice, and generalize skills through engaging programs like our dog treat making workshop, horticulture program, and creative design workshop. Our on-campus studio apartment and kitchen provide real-world settings for practicing essential life skills. We also facilitate community experiences, bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application.

Building a solid foundation for post-high school success is paramount. Our structured program emphasizes social engagement and crucial soft skills, including flexibility, problem-solving, accepting feedback, and building responsibility and confidence. Students begin by mastering tasks within our campus, ensuring they possess the readiness indicators necessary for community-based job experiences. This progression includes practicing interviewing, completing job applications, developing resumes, and participating in performance evaluations during various on-the-job training opportunities.

We are proud to partner with community businesses, offering diverse job experiences at retailers, libraries, recreational facilities, gyms, and animal welfare organizations. These partnerships provide invaluable real-world training and exposure.

ACCEL’s therapy department is committed to providing personalized therapeutic interventions that empower students to thrive. We deliver services as prescribed in each student’s IEP, and we actively support classrooms to enhance student access to the educational curriculum. We offer a variety of augmentative communication, assistive technology, and adaptive seating options to ensure every student has the necessary tools for success. Our team embraces a multidisciplinary approach to develop customized solutions, and with parental consent, we happily collaborate with external providers to provide seamless, integrated care.

ACCEL’s behavior department is staffed by highly qualified professionals, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). When behavioral needs are present, our BCBAs and BCaBAs actively participate in each student’s IEP team. They conduct functional behavioral assessments to create individualized behavior intervention plans, designed to address specific challenges and promote positive outcomes. We are committed to empowering our school staff, providing them with comprehensive training in behavior management and crisis intervention. We also prioritize collaboration, working closely with the therapy department and classroom teams to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.

ACCEL prioritizes the health and well-being of every student. Our full-time nursing staff is on-site to provide expert care for both routine and unexpected medical needs, ensuring students are safe and comfortable throughout the school day. We believe in the power of strong parent-school partnerships. To enhance this collaboration, classroom teachers provide daily communication, keeping parents informed about their child’s progress and any relevant health-related observations. This seamless communication ensures a unified approach to each student’s care.
