Dr. Mindy Malik has been working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities and their families and teachers for over 30 years. She began her career as a teacher and then chose to become a psychologist to help students and teachers become more successful. Dr. Malik received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and a Doctoral degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of New Orleans, as well as a Master’s degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame.
For the past 16 years, Dr. Malik has developed training programs for ACCEL staff. She has been instrumental in the development of the Model Classroom Program©, an assessment and intervention program of evidenced based practices for special education classrooms. Dr. Malik also consults for public and charter schools, training teachers to establish effective classroom programs.
Outside of work, Dr. Malik enjoys travel, hiking and theology studies.
