The ACCEL Leadership team is responsible for developing the organization’s initiatives, directing its education and therapeutic programs and for providing resources to enrich the lives of children and adults with special needs.

Connie Laird, M.A., Executive Director
Connie Laird has been Executive Director at ACCEL in Phoenix, Arizona since 1996. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and her graduate training at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Nancy - 1

Nancy Molder, M.Ed., VP of Educational Services
Nancy received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and her Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University-Flagstaff. Nancy began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the private sector and in the public schools. Nancy has held several administrative positions since being employed at ACCEL.

Mindy Malik,PhD, VP of Training and Program Development
Dr. Malik received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Duke University, a Doctoral Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of New Orleans, and a Masters Degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame.


Raymond Damm, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Development Officer
Raymond joined ACCEL in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Development Officer. In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s finances and corporate development.


Cheryl Marvin, VP of Operations
Cheryl R. Marvin has been with ACCEL, since 2008. She received her undergraduate training in Accounting at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California, and her MBA at University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. Cheryl has over 30 years of experience working in the Business Operations field.


Jonathan Evans, Principal – Metro Campus
Jonathan Evans is the Principal at ACCEL in Phoenix Arizona. He attended Miami University in Oxford Ohio as an undergraduate student and completed his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Arizona State University.


Robert Gilmore M.Ed., Principal – Tempe Campus
Mr. Gilmore has worked in Special Education for 16 years and as a school administrator for the past five years. He has worked in a private school setting the past two years. His first 22 years were in public education. Mr. Gilmore is a graduate of San Jose State University and University of Phoenix.

Don Stenhoff,PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, Director of Behavior Services
Dr. Don Stenhoff is the Director of Behavioral Services. He has over 20 years experience working with individuals with and without disabilities. Prior to joining ACCEL he was an assistant professor at University of Kentucky teaching courses in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Kay Moore,
Working with those who have developmental and behavioral health disabilities since 1976, Ms. Moore’s vast experience includes the spectrum of services from children to the elderly, from group homes to semi-independent apartment living and from all types of day programs to the full menu of employment programs.
