Behavioral Services
The Department of Behavioral Services consists of Ph.D.s, Masters level staff, BCBAs, and highly trained behavior team members. These individuals work closely with special educators and classroom support staff in completing functional behavioral assessments, developing function based treatment packages and writing behavioral goals and benchmarks. Furthermore, the department coordinates, supervises, and conducts skill assessments to develop individualized education programs that employ Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaching methods.
The Department of Behavioral Services provides state-of-the art training for staff in evidence-based best practices for children with exceptionalities.
The department utilizes the services of a consulting clinical psychologist to work with parents, ACCEL staff, school district, and doctors to identity needs, address bio-medical behavioral issues, and monitor concerns. In addition, the department is responsible for training all ACCEL staff in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
